Bring me a shovel!
We have broken ground on more home improvement. Let the chaos begin!
Summer is coming. What does that mean? (No, not the part about this half of the equator being closer to the sun, creating hotter temperatures, etc). That means its time for the yearly fire drill of getting the house in shape to use on weekends - All the things that really we could have done any time during the year, but instead, we rush to get done in a month or two.
So - what's on the menu? Flagstone path to the garage. Ripping out trees, putting in trees, more landscaping...and... (wait for it)... a new BBQ!!
Ahhhh yes... the glory of playing with fire. It truly is the thing that lets you know that you have your own castle.
Then again, writing a bunch of checks for people to tear out broken sprinkler heads and rewire electrical in the back probably lets you know that too...
More on the construction, as it develops...
Vegas Baby Vegas!!
Greetings All,
A quick Ranch update - Vegas-Style.
Birthday in the family has yielded a quick, turn-around trip to Vegas.
Mid-day thursday flight. Easy time getting a cab at McCarrron when its not weekend madness. Checked in at the Wynn - Our first time here.
I admit I came here with an anti-Wynn bias. I mean, its an exceptional ego that decides, "Y'know, its not enough that I own 75% of Vegas.... I think we need a hotel with my name on it too..."
However, I stand before you (ok, sit, with a scotch on the table next to me, and a stack of cigars waiting to be smoked) humbled by my error - Wynn really did it right. Service comes with a capital S here. We elected to get the "panorama view" room (no, for you Oregonians, not the club Panorama). Exceptional view of the strip. Restaurants have been exceptional, gaming was great (low table limits for thursday night), pool was exceptional, services and facilities, all top notch.
I highly recommend it.
Gambled a bit - more on that as it develops.
Vegas Baby Vegas! We are SO money!
